Dear All,
On the occasion of 30 years of activity, the Faculty of Islamic Pedagogy of the University of Zenica is organizing the 1st scientific-professional conference with international participation "EDUCATION AND CHALLENGES OF THE MODERN", which will be held continuously once a year from June 13, 2024.
The one-day scientific and professional conference with international participation "EDUCATION AND CHALLENGES OF THE MODERN" will be held in Zenica on June 13, 2024.
The basic idea and concept of the Conference is to gather in one place scientists, experts and researchers from different fields and from different countries who are engaged in education research and exchange experiences related to education and contemporary challenges.
The conference should contribute to the stimulation of more productive scientific research work in the humanities and social sciences studied at the Islamic Pedagogical Faculty of the University of Zenica within the study programs: Islamic Religious Studies, Social Pedagogy, Preschool Education, Arabic Language and Literature, Inclusive Education.
Objectives of the Conference:
- Acquisition of assumptions for scientifically-research-based questioning and development of study programs carried out at the Faculty;
- Scientific and professional support for the affirmation and professionalization of the calling of experts who are educated in the study programs of the Faculty;
- Diagnosing the obstacles that graduates of study programs at the Faculty face in practice and in their work;
- Gaining direct insights into international experiences in education, and their confrontation with contemporary educational challenges.

- Recent research on the theory and practice of religious education
- Contemporary methodological challenges in religious education
- Challenges of (con)textualization of religious content
- Contemporary Islamic pedagogical thought
- Challenges of social pedagogical theory and practice: social pedagogical professionalization, digitalization, conflicts, social transformation processes, violence, environmental justice
- Sociopolitical research
- Social-pedagogical preventive, treatment and post-treatment courses of action
- Social-pedagogical action in the context of childhood, youth, adults and older age
- Curriculum and modern educational approaches in preschool education
- Kindergarten as an institutional framework for preparing a child for life
- The importance of professionalizing the teaching profession with the aim of developing a preschool institution
- The importance of the partnership between family and kindergarten
- Arabic Linguistics – Traditional and Contemporary Context

Organization and maintenance of the Gathering
The conference will be held in Zenica on June 13, 2024 in the Faculty building, Bilmišće, bb.
Participants can submit only one authored or co-authored work.
There can be a maximum of 3 co-authors on one paper.
By submitting the work, the authors agree to its publication with mandatory review and categorization of the work by the reviewers.
Participation in the Conference is free of charge. Participants who register for the Conference on time will be provided free of charge: Certificate of participation in the Conference and refreshments during the Conference.
Conference participants will bear the costs of travel and stay in Zenica during the Conference.

Application of work
Submit the application summary of the work in the electronic version (on the attached form) no later than February 29, 2024. One author can submit a maximum of one paper (independently or in co-authorship).
Authors will be notified by March 7, 2024 about the acceptance of the topic. Authors whose topics are accepted should submit the works as a whole in an electronic version no later than April 30, 2024. The works should be done according to the instructions that the authors will receive on March 7, 2024, together with the confirmation of acceptance of the topic.
For presentation at the Conference, only original scientific papers, review scientific papers and professional papers from the topics/fields covered by the Conference's theme, which have not been exhibited or published in printed or electronic version, will be accepted.
Reviewed works will be published in the collection of works (electronic version).
The official languages of the Conference are: Bosnian/Croatian/Serbian, English and Arabic.
Registration for all participants is mandatory.
