On Friday, 26.05.2023. In 2016, students from the Department of Social Pedagogy and the Department of Inclusive Education visited the institutes for the care of mentally disabled persons Drin and Bakovići in Fojnica.
The main goal of the visit was to acquaint the students with different forms of work with children, young people and adults with intellectual and multiple disabilities, and mental illnesses, in institutional and non-institutional care, that is, the concept of life with community support. The way of work itself, the forms of care, protection, treatment and rehabilitation, the challenges they face, the construction of everyday life and other relevant information were presented to the students by members of the professional team of both institutes: social workers, psychologists, pedagogues, educators-rehabilitators and others.
The students were accompanied by teachers and associates of the Faculty, Prof. dr. Edina Vejo, Assoc. Ph.D. Azemina Maglic, v.assist.m.sc. Emina Šarić-Krajišnik and assistant professor Mirsada Bulut-Huseljić.
We are grateful for the opportunity to learn, for the exchange of experiences, for the willingness to cooperate, and we look forward to some future joint gatherings and projects.
