PROFESSOR SAFVET HALILOVIĆ ADMITTED TO THE MEMBERSHIP OF THE INTERNATIONAL ACADEMY OF SCIENCES AND ARTS IN BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA (IANUBH)

On Saturday, May 22, 2021, a solemn event was held in Sarajevo on the occasion of the inauguration of the International Academy of Science and Arts in Bosnia and Herzegovina (International Academy of Science and Arts in Bosnia and Herzegovina). On that occasion, Professor Safvet Halilović, otherwise a full professor at the Faculty of Islamic Pedagogy at the University of Zenica, was accepted as a member of this respectable international academy of sciences and arts that gathers distinguished scientists, writers, artists and cultural workers from various parts of the world.  

The president of the Academy is a distinguished professor and academician, prof. Ph.D. Asim Kurjak, a lecturer at several universities around the world and a person who is reputed to be one of the most cited scientists in the world in the field of medical sciences (gynecology, ultrasound diagnostics and others, over 13 thousand citations).

The Academy also launched its own magazine Science, Art and Religion (Science, art and religion) in English, and the chief editor of the magazine is prof. Ph.D. Miro Jakovljević from Zagreb.

There are eleven classes in the Academy, which cover different scientific areas: social sciences, medicine, humanities and natural-mathematical sciences, technical sciences, art, religion, class for young scientists, class for diaspora, class for sustainable development and class for foreign members. Professor Safvet Halilović was chosen as the leader of the religion class. On this occasion, he gave an appropriate speech at this festive event in Sarajevo, in which he spoke on the topic: Faith - the primordial need of man.

Regarding admission to membership in the International Academy of Sciences and Arts in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Professor Halilović made the following statement: "This is truly a joyful moment for every university professor - to become a member of a respectable scientific institution such as the International Academy of Sciences and art. I did not ask for this, others nominated me for this membership. In the last few years, I have actively participated, with scientific reports, in several international conferences and symposia held in Zagreb, Rijeka, Istanbul, Ankara, Doha, Tunisia and Kuwait. In addition, thank God, I am the author of several extensive studies and books. Some of my books have been translated into English, German, Arabic, Turkish, Czech and Spanish. I am glad that my involvement was recognized and that, after the nomination, I was accepted as an associate member of this Academy. This opens up the possibility for us to continue, inshallah, to engage in scientific and research work, precisely in the sphere of what is our commitment in life: the study of religion, ethics and culture" - said Professor Safvet Halilović.
